Change Music Speed and Pitch Online

Explore tempo, pitch, bass boost and the half-time drop effect in one audio editor.

Tempo versus pitch

Tempo describes how quickly audio plays, while pitch relates to how high or low sounds are. Conventional slowing usually lowers both speed and pitch. Some processing methods allow them to change independently, keeping voices closer to their original register even when a song is slower.

Try a half-time drop

A half-time drop starts with normal playback speed, then changes to a slower tempo at a chosen point. The middle of the track is one natural transition point, but a chorus or outro can work too. Preview the change before downloading, especially when you want a dramatic musical shift.

Bass and other effects

Bass Boost emphasizes lower frequencies, while pitch shifting changes the perceived height of notes. Combining these controls with reverb, trimming and fades gives you many versions of the same source material. Avoid extreme settings when they cause unwanted distortion.
